We have three forms for community service work at Tierra Azul

First Form
The first is a position that requires little commitment on the part of those interested. This might work well for students or for persons interested in lending an extra hand.

Second Form
The individual dedicates himself or herself to service work as spiritual practice and adheres to the basic requirements:

-Simplicity - the practice of non-accumulation, or simplicity in need.
-Devotional Social Work - following a Gandhian model of dropping the notion of helper and those being helped.
-Self-reliance - involving education, self-restraint and purification as the individual follows their particular spiritual path.
-Ahimsa - non-violence in thought, word and deed.
-Ecological Consciousness - actively practicing awareness of how our actions affect the environment.

Council
This is a group of community service workers that are directly involved in project development, decision-making and guidance.

The community service worker with Tierra Azul Projects dedicates himself or herself to service work as spiritual practice. Any compensation or exchange for work done, after basic needs are met, is held in the Tierra Azul Community Trust for further service projects. Tierra Azul Projects is strictly non-profit, seeking the spirit of community interrelationship.
